1:1 Interventions

1:1 Academic Intervention: Personalized, Evidence-Based Support in Literacy, Math, and Writing

Our 1:1 sessions are designed for students who need instruction that fits how their brain learns.

We offer individualized intervention in literacy, math, and writing for students in grades 1–12. Sessions are available in person in the Greater Boston area and online worldwide, scheduled after school or during the school day (with school approval).

Literacy

Our reading instruction is grounded in Orton-Gillingham principles but optimized to go beyond phonics. Each session weaves together decoding, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and background knowledge — the full spectrum of the reading rope — to accelerate progress and build confident, capable readers.

Math

Our structured, sequential math intervention mirrors the same principles: mastery of core facts, conceptual understanding, and real-world application. We break skills into manageable parts, then build them back up in a way that makes sense — especially for students who haven't thrived with traditional instruction.

Writing

Writing instruction that builds skills from the ground up — growing from mechanics to meaningful expression. We target parts of speech, grammar, spelling, word choice, and sentence structure, then teach students how to apply those tools to plan, organize, sequence, redraft, and ultimately express complex ideas and rhetorical arguments. This integrated approach helps students build the foundation they need to write with clarity, purpose, and confidence.

Writing Groups

Structured Writing Groups
Build confident writers with brain-based, step-by-step instruction tailored to neurodivergent learners.
Our small-group writing classes are designed for students who need more than prompts and freewrites — they need structure, scaffolding, and effective strategies. Grouped by skill level (not just grade), each class targets the foundational and advanced writing skills students need to thrive, from sentences to synthesis essays. All instruction is individualized, neurodiversity-affirming, and rooted in explicit, sequential teaching.

Success Stories

Background

“One little sticker chart completely changed our dynamic. My son’s confidence skyrocketed—we got more done that first week than we had in months before. Teaching your own kids is hard, but teaching your own dyslexic kid is another game altogether. This class truly gave me the skills to meet my son where he was at, and teach him the way he needed so that he could become a fluent reader.”

– Caroline, New Jersey –

Background

“The course broke down strategies in such a simple way that I saw immediate results. My son used to cry when I tried to teach him to read, but now he asks to do reading sessions first. The difference is incredible. The focus on the whole child as a person and a learner is game changing, honestly.”

– Jacqueline, California –

Background

“This isn’t just a reading program, it’s a masterclass in how to support and understand a dyslexic learner. I now have insights into my daughter’s brain and behavior that help me both teach her effectively and parent with greater empathy and intention. If you are on the fence, take the class. I have tried so many things before, there is nothing like this out there. You will feel the heart and support in this program right away, and you will be inspired by it.”
